The state has averaged between $75 and $100 million in<br />credits per year for the last two years, so the cap represents a<br />potential 50% decrease in production in our state.<br /><br />The Governor¹s suggested temporary film credit cap has gone to the<br />legislature, where the House and Senate will determine its fate.<br />While we sympathize with the need to close the budget gap and want<br />to do our part, the Massachusetts Production Coalition believes<br />that capping this credit is not the best solution and will lead to<br />lost jobs and lost economic growth.This, at a time when we need<br />increased jobs and economic activity to work our way out of the<br />current fiscal environment and encourage new investments in the<br />commonwealth.<br /><br /><br />The Massachusetts Production Coalition is working to eliminate the<br />proposed cap to protect production in our state and jobs for our<br />members. We are coordinating our efforts with other stakeholders<br />both inside and outside the state.  But we need your voice.<br /><br /></span><div><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0);font-family:arial, sans-serif;line-height:normal"><div class="sites-embed-align-center-wrapping-off"><div class="sites-embed-border-on sites-embed sites-embed-full-width" style="width:100%;"><h4 class="sites-embed-title">WHO TO CALL</h4><div class="sites-embed-content sites-embed-type-text"><div class="sites-embed-content-textbox"><div dir="ltr"><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0);font-family:arial, sans-serif">Targeted phone calls delivering a unified message are needed.<br />PLEASE MAKE PHONE CALLS TO THE FOLLOWING LEGISLATORS FIRST. class="sites-layout-name-one-column sites-layout-hbox"><tbody><tr><td class="sites-layout-tile sites-tile-name-content-1"><div dir="ltr">Here's an interesting idea for all aspiring actors, actresses...........well basically anyone in performing arts.  The website we're recommending is <a href="http://librivox.org" rel="nofollow">http://librivox.org</a>.  It is a growing resource of out of date/out of print books and other previously published literary works -- short stories, poems, novels, non-fiction.  After browsing the catalog there is something for almost any interest -- fun to explore. <div><br /></div><div>If you currently do Voice-Over work, or have been told you have a great voice why not try...........here is your opportunity to share your beautiful voice with the rest of us, and do some good -- all at the same time.<br /><div><br /></div><div>As a listener it couldn't be easier, all you do is browse the Catalog, locate something of interest -- download the mp3 file -- load it onto your iPod or other MP3 Player.<br /><div><br /></div><div>We suggest just going ahead and exploring the website for yourself.  Besides just being a "depository" for literature -- it offers people an opportunity to <a href="http://librivox.org/volunteer-for-librivox/" rel="nofollow">volunteer our services</a> by being a Recording Reader.  As a Rcording Reader you have the ability of not only serving this community, but also creating hosted tracks of your own voice on the web.</div><div><br /></div><div>It couldn't be easier to get yourself setup and started -- while it may not be as sophisticated as working in a sound-proof, digital recording environment -- it demonstrates something else about yourself.  Here is all you need:</div><div><ul><li><span style="font-family:Lucida Grande, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;line-height:normal;font-size:12px">your voice</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Lucida Grande, Verdana, Arial, computer</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Lucida Grande, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;line-height:normal;font-size:12px">and maybe an inexpensive microphone</span></li></ul></div><div>If hosting sample tracks of your voice were not enough -- <a href="http://www.nomapnoguidenolimits.com/2009/04/06/unexpected-payoffs-the-benefits-of-volunteering/" rel="nofollow">Volunteerism</a> is so vitally important.  Depending on your personal interests there are various ways that you can participate.  Literary works are given in different languages as well -- so we're not just talking (speaking of) English.  Here is a list that was copied from the volunteer page of Librivox.</div><div><span style="font-family:Lucida Grande, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;line-height:normal;font-size:12px"><ul><li><strong>collaborative:</strong> many volunteers contribute chapters of a long text</li><li><strong>solo:</strong> one volunteer reads an entire book</li><li><strong>short works (prose and poetry):</strong> short works and poetry!</li><li><strong>dramatic works:</strong> “actors” record parts, all edited together.</li><li><strong>other languages:</strong> projects in languages other than English.</li></ul></span></div><div>The above list offers ways to showcase your individual talent, or work in a collaborative with others.</div><div><br /></div><div>Actually Librivox is not just for performers -- the rest of us get the enrichment, entertainment, stimulation of listening to these forgotten literary class="sites-layout-name-one-column sites-layout-hbox"><tbody><tr><td class="sites-layout-tile sites-tile-name-content-1"><div dir="ltr"><div>That's right today's blog post deals with money savings and improved communication productivity.  </div>
<div><br />
</div>
Anyone that begins working with us at Forerunner, clients and associates alike  realize right away that we are huge fans of Google, and the Google Business Model of free services.  Have you heard about Google's Free Phone Service?
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In the past few years Google has expanded beyond just <a href="http://pack.google.com/intl/en/pack_installer.html">Free Software</a>, beyond <a href="http://www.docs.google.com">Cloud Computing</a>, beyond <a href="http://www.google.com/apps/">Google Apps</a>. Step up to <a href="http://www.google.com/googlevoice/about.html">Google Voice</a> -- which is a web based (naturally) phone service - that  combines all your different phone lines -- home., office, cell phone -- into one phone number.  It's a little more complicated than that in essense you will now be originating and receiving calls via one phone number, you can screen your calls, send calls directly to voicemail.  There is so much more --  and yes this is free.  Currently Google does not charge for this service and there are no ads on the dashboard -- and no ads to listen to.</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Just think if all you ever had to do was give out one phone number, and people could reach you anywhere you are at the moment -- that's right.  A client tries you at the office and you're not there, maybe they don't have your cell number - so they redial the receptionist and begin cajoling them into giving out your cell number.  How about if a parent, sibling, or your child is in a crisis and must reach you instantly?  Don't get nervous, you can limit where a caller can reach you.  Suppose you're a Field Sales Manager, and it's important for your field people to reach you -- but not necessarily on your home phone -- it's your decision -- you can restrict or permit where each person in your contact list can reach you -- home, office, cell.</div><div><br /></div><div>Dashboard and the Contact List, from the dashboard and by accessing the Contact List you are able to control the "Call Settings" of each person in Your Contact List, the default is for all calls to ring on each registered phone number.  The Google Voice is fully synched from any internet accessible computer and cell phone.</div><div><br /></div><blockquote style="margin:0 0 0 40px;border:none;padding:0px"><div>"Call Settings" make Google Voice totally customizable right off the shelf:</div></blockquote><div><ul><ul><li>Assign Which phone lines to route each contact, or send Contact directly to voicmail</li><li>Assign Contacts to a Group and deliver custom recorded specific Voicemail Messages</li><li>Require Contact to Announce themself by name before a call is put through</li></ul></ul></div>
<div>There's actually a lot more to it.  <b>FREE SMS Messaging</b> (texting), easy and convenient from your phone but also from your desktop too.  Iphone, Berry, Palm who cares -- you're not living until you text from a regular computer keyboard.  If you texted from your cell, laptop, touch, desktop -- all messaging is recorded and available on any accessible device.</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><b>Voice Mail</b> couldn't be easier -- notices are sent to your phone as a SMS Message, and an email is sent to you containing an audio file as well as a transcript of the message.  Again all the data is available on all your devices -- Well not your "typical home phone"</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><b>Announced Caller Feature</b> -- imagine answering a call and hearing "You have a call from [callers name] to accept press 1, to send the caller to voicemail press 2.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Placing Calls</b> are easy -- just bring up your dashboard either enter a complete phone number, or call someone from your Contact List -- select what phone -- home office or cell you'd like to use for the call -- within 4 seconds you are called by Google Voice -- kind of a little anti-hacking step, and your call is immediately put through.</div>
<div><br />

<div>Still more -- to get the total complete picture check it out for yourself.  GV has a lot more bells and whistles than what you're probably used to, or maybe dreamt about.  We've been using Google Voice for abt 6 months now since it was first introduced, and find it to be hard to live without now.  There are lots of neat apps you'll imagine and incorporate specific to your own needs and circumstance.  </div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Google Voice is free to <a href="https://services.google.com/fb/forms/googlevoiceinvite/">sign up</a>, you may have a wee-bit of a wait, however a week to 10 days and you'll receive acceptance and a Google Voice Number in your home based area code.   Oh we should mention, if it's not obvious -- it's best to have some sort of media package to access the web on your cellphone.  Also you might want to checkout your individual cell plans to understand whether you will be incurring any additional service charges.</div><div><br /></div><div>Like all Google Products and Services, support is mostly handled by a User Forum Community, search for your problem, or post your own question and someone will respond to you.  Of course since I am acting as "chief instigator" -- by introducing you all to Google Voice, feel free to shoot me an email if you have a question.</div><div><a href="mailto:kkirshner@forerunnerpromotionalpartners.com">kkirshner@forerunnerpromotionalpartners.com</a></div>
